For what I need, I have cheaper and more portable options nowadays. Some kind of embed Traktor unit but since Traktor needs rework I’m not so confident about this.Īnyways, time will tell and none of these will make me come back if iPad/iPhone isn’t in the plan or standalone hasn’t spleeter stems. This will let DJs perform with tracks from the full catalogues of Beatsource and Beatport, along with some other nifty features. My bet is TDJ2 is revamped into new Traktor Pro 4 as I said and as I pointed time ago. Beatport has teamed up with Native Instruments to integrate its Beatport and Beatsource LINK streaming services to NI’s Traktor Pro 3 software. The rest just keep themselves on board because Traktor still have some killer features for them (remix decks, audio analisys, stability vs rekordbox…) Others are still on board waiting for NI delivering “something” due to promises but there isn’t a clear roadmap, just assumptions and whisful thinking… Some of us had jumped into DjPlayer, Djay Pro or Vdj for stems and spleeter or Rekordbox since there isn’t Ddj1000 support or features are enough or they dj with cdjs too, etc. Everybody wants something different but all of us are clear on the same thing “Traktor needs works, in any direction almost to clear what’s the path and what to do if it isn’t what some users expect”.
New mk3 had sold less than expected for sure and issues with outdated software and “maintenance mode” have zero user support. S4mk3 issues with new macs and iPad impossible compatibility (told by NI) maybe motivated that possible strategy change. It was rumoured TDJ2 will get iAPs for pro features after being completed (it wasn’t at the s3 release since it was only 2 channels…) but the that statement from Pedram pointed something like “let’s revamp Pro and going fast forward…” Or maybe a warp speed to turn TDJ2 into Traktor Pro 4 instead leaving each one on its own path what seemed the first strategy. TRAKTOR PRO users can now utilize both Beatport and Beatsource LINK in a Public Beta mode, with an official launch coming in June.
